Our ministry is staffed by a few dedicated Christians who just want to support God in his mission of reconciliation with mankind. We do that by reaching out to others and explaining God’s plan of Salvation. Oftentimes, we also meet their physical needs by providing food, clothes, shelter, and other assistance.
There are already many local churches and ministries that feed the homeless on a weekly basis; therefore, we focus on “personal mentorship” to assist them in getting back on their feet. Sometimes, they just need a haircut and clean clothes, a bicycle to get around, employment, spiritual counseling, or just a “friend” to be there for them. And that’s what we do.
Our tiny staff is made up of 100% volunteers, even our founder and Executive Director, who manages the ministry on a full-time basis, is not compensated because whatever funds we get are spent on helping other people. We give Bibles to new believers without charge. We distribute Christian books, also free of charge, to those who attend our weekly bible studies to help them get more into the word of God. We engage in charitable deeds in the community whenever funds are available.
We do encourage people to tithe, but we do not insist that they do so in support of our ministry. If they prefer to tithe to a local church or another ministry, we offer our sincere blessings.
People who have benefited directly from our ministry, either spiritually and/or materially, or who identify with our mission, do support us with their tithes and donations.
People who are eyewitnesses to the local charitable work (and also the evangelical work) that we do in the community also donate to us on a regular basis. However, donations received are very small amounts and therefore we desperately are in need of your financial support (if it’s within your resources to do so).
The Bible states that a tithe belongs to God and if you give it to those who are engaged in Christian ministry, He will bless you financially. Watch the video above for a more detailed explanation.
“Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.” Malachi 3:8-10
There are many Christians who are falsely teaching that Jesus Christ never mentioned tithing. But that is totally false. Two of the disciples of Jesus Christ, both Matthew and also Luke (Matthew 23:23 & Luke 11:42), reported that Jesus called out the religious leaders of his time for thinking that tithing alone was good enough. He told them that they should also practice ethics and fairness….
… and He warned them to continue giving their TITHES.
Many people also believe that Jesus did not say what percentage a TITHE is; however, everyone knew that a tithe is 10% and there was no need to give a definition.
After Jesus rose from the dead and was taken to Heaven, his disciples planted many churches and began to preach the gospel of Christ. Due to persecution by the Jewish people, there was therefore a great need for believers to help each other and so “offerings” was encouraged by the church leaders. Offerings are whatever amount over 10% of income. The first 10% of the income belongs to God, whatever you give over is on you and there is no particular amount. It’s whatever you are able and feel in your heart to give.
“But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.“
Bible: 2 Corinthians 9:6-7
Some staff members who have jobs contribute their tithes and offerings to keep the ministry going. But we do not openly ask for donations. We just want to get people saved from God’s final judgment; and out of fear of people thinking that we are in this for the money, we do not request donations — but we welcome it.
